Landhaus Stetten Torbogenstübchen

Discover your perfect retreat

Two flats that couldn't be more different...

Wide open spaces, rural tranquillity, sweeping views and the comforts of country life in Rhineland-Palatinate. A great opportunity to unwind or to enjoy a retreat after a successful wine tasting session.

You live in a light-flooded holiday flat with a fantastic view over the hilly countryside and the Northern Palatinate. Experience culture, nature and pleasure. Germany's largest wine-growing region is right on the doorstep, and the surrounding area is ideal for hiking, cycling or ‘just’ going for a walk. The view from the panoramic window reveals why the area is also known as the ‘Tuscany of Germany’. The rural idyll offers space for relaxation and slowing down far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Stetten is located in enchanting Rheinhessen. Rheinhessen is a region in the north-western end of the Upper Rhine Graben with an area of 1,336.19 km². The two largest cities are Mainz and Worms. Alzey and Kirchheimbolanden are within easy reach and have much to offer in terms of culture and history. Germany's largest wine-growing region stretches along the left bank of the Rhine between Bingen, Mainz and Worms. Wine is grown on 26,000 hectares of hilly land, as the climate here is ideal: low rainfall, warm in summer and mild in winter.

These things are typically Rhine-Hessian:

  • Rheinhessen wine
  • Rheinhessen wine taverns
  • Rheinhessen Spundekäs: Spundekäs is a simple but very tasty dip made from cream cheese.
  • Rheinhessen wine vaults
  • Rheinhessen wine festivals
  • Rheinhessen hill country
  • Rhine-Hessian trulli
  • Rhine-Hessian sandstone

Another speciality can be found around and on the Donnersberg, the highest mountain in the Palatinate. The Donnersberg-Touristik-Verband e.V. offers some more information here.

At 686.5 metres above sea level, the Donnersberg near Dannenfels in the Donnersberg district of Rhineland-Palatinate is the highest mountain massif in the North Palatinate Uplands and the entire Palatinate. The highest point of the Donnersberg massif, which has several peaks, is at the summit of the Königsstuhl rock formation. In Celtic times, there was a town complex on the wooded mountain, of which the so-called ‘Celtic Wall’ still bears witness. In addition to these archaeological remains, the Donnersberg is also home to the remains of the St. Jakob monastery, the Ludwigsturm observation tower, the Adlerbogen monument, a former US radio station and the Donnersberg transmitter. Five castles still exist as ruins on the outskirts of the Donnersberg. Due to its unique geology, the Donnersberg is officially one of the most important geotopes in Germany.

There is a lot to discover, with the domicile in Landhaus Stetten your stay in Rheinhessen will definitely be a win!

...and the

in the heart of Ruit - small and cosy, right on the doorstep of Stuttgart , the capital of Baden Württemberg. With short journey times to cultural, sporting and lifestyle events, good infrastructure, historic towns such as Esslingen and Schorndorf on the doorstep, the airport nearby and, of course, many culinary options.

The small house right next to a hotel was built over 100 years ago by my grandfather and fits in well behind the historic gate (stepped gable from the 16th century). In the flat you will find carefully selected furnishings with great attention to detail and charm. As the rooms are not large, everything has been optimally adapted to the circumstances. After a restless day in the city, you can relax here despite the central location. With around 7,900 inhabitants, Ruit is not too big and it is easy to go for a walk in the countryside or through the forest.

Ruit is a district of the town of Ostfildern and borders directly on Stuttgart, but is located in the district of Esslingen. The former state garden show grounds in the ‘Scharnhauser Park’ district are the venue for the annual Flaming Stars Fireworks Festival and the Garden Dream. In our little archway house you live in ideal proximity to the city and yet surrounded by greenery. The ideal centre for excursions to the Neckar valley, Stuttgart or the Körsch valley.
